Article: Dayton Daily News, 8/12/04 "Attorney Suspended for Bribe Suggestion" http://www.daytondailynews.com/localnews/content/localnews/daily/2004/08/12/ddn0812obrien.html It alarms me that the Ohio Supreme Court's proceedings in this case presumably ignored the motive that prompted David O'Brien to propose offering Judge Hall a bribe; O'Brien likely knew that Judge Hall, like other federal, state and local judges, routinely accepts bribes in turn for favorable rulings. The Ohio high court's decision, in my view, is further testament that the country's judiciaries are continuing to close their eyes to the corruption that continues to taint the country's courts, particularly our local and state civil courts. This is crazy. My mom had a case in this SAME court system. Her case was assigned to another judge because the "OTHER" judge was out sick. This new judge threw the case out with no questions asked. my moms lawyer advised her that trying to turn that ruling over would take longer and cost my mom more money that she did not have The system failed her. She was working for a company tech development for over 20 years and never missed a day of work. she was harassed by other works many times over long period of time before she was forced to quit. the Ohio system has failed her. I will have to be sure to show her this. I must of overlooked it in the paper William Harrison wharrison@gmail.com jpflaum@bellsouth.net (Jim Pflaum) wrote in message news:<a4898006.0408190931.24f16c42@posting.google.com>...

I just found out the judge that got my mothers case was none other then Judge Hall. Hrmm.... They threw her case out of court. They said it lacked evidence and the judge said there is no law against being an asshole William Harrison wharrison@gmail.com "I approved this message" <nospam@email.gov> wrote in message news:<U7GdneckW7iTpbrcRVn-rw@giganews.com>...

Based on what you've said so far William, it sure sounds to me like Judge Hall probably took a bribe from the opposing side's attorney, particularly if he did indeed dismiss your mom's case "with no questions asked." At the very least, he could be guilty of violating the Ohio Bar's "Code of Judicial Conduct." (Click here to review: http://www.sconet.state.oh.us/Rules/conduct/ In either case, I would strongly encourage your mom to file a complaint against Judge Hall through the Ohio State Bar Association's Office of Disciplinary Council (See mailing address below). If she decides to file a complaint, and I hope she does, I would be glad to help her out by reviewing and editing the complaint. Ohio State Bar Association Office of Disciplinary Counsel 1700 Lake Shore Drive P.O. Box 16562 Columbus, OH 43216-6562 614.487.2050 or 800.282.6556 Despite its imperfections, I truly believe the country's legal system is fair and honest for the most part. Nevertheless, I also firmly believe that we all, and I mean me, you, your mom and every U.S. citizen, have an absolute duty and responsibility to help make the system as fair and just as it can possibly be. Justice, after all, is the bedrock that supports and preserves our constitutional rights and freedoms. That's why it's so important that we step forward and rid the country's courts of corrupt judges like Judge Hall.
