What the deal (not taking into account the law change) with mixtapes and
sample clearance? Is it ok to have samples uncleared on mixtapes or do
people not bother with them because they dont shift units like albums do?
Where do artists get other artists beats from? For example on "Build
and Destroy" Royce goes after D12 over In Da Club, where does he get
that beat from or is it just downloaded?
Stupid questions I know and really show off how new I am to it all but

The newest court ruling says ALL sampling, no matter how short, or how
distorted or changed, is illegal unless it is cleared beforehand. Fuck
that.
