I am a formal employee of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. I was fired about a month ago by the store manger who at the very beginning did not like me. I called the District Manger who informed me that I wasn't fired and had a long talk with the store manger about him firing me. Upon returning to work that day. The store manger informed me that all the stockman were going to clean up the fixture room and I was going to be first one. When I asked the other stockman if they were told about cleaning the fixture room they said no. Since I was hired back I was the only one cleaning out the fixture room. While I was cleaning the fixture room up the store manger was writing me up for not doing my other duties. The store manger along with the assistant manger would nit-pick at everything I do. All of this happen after that one event. As of last Sunday the store manger got his way and fired me again. I am sick of him harassing me. Todd

Try the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) or your local state Department of Employment. Or, try a regular attorney who will take it on a contingency.

First, it doesn't sound like you have a case, even if your firing was unfair. Second, it's unlikely an attorney would take your case pro bono. There's no reason to. If you wish to satisfy yourself that there's no legal action you can take, consult an employment attorney in your area. Often, such consultations are free. ------------------------------ Bob Stock, California Attorney Nothing I've said should be relied on as legal advice. ------------------------------

Hello, I'm looking for a pro bono lawyer who deals in workplace
harassment. As Jade suggested, you need a contingency fee attorney, not a pro bono attorney. The contingency fee attorney works for a percentage of the recovery, and gets nothing if there is no recovery. So, start with the Yellow Pages. You can also call the county bar association and find out the phone number of their lawyer referral service. Make appointments with attorneys, interview them. If anyone is interested, you will be offered a contingency fee agreement. If nobody is interested, that is a good indication that your case is not worth pursuing. McGyver
