Legal Advise on a Lease Agreement

I rented a appartment for 1 year. I moved out on the end date of the lease.
(with 25 days notice)
They then tried to say that I have to give 30 days notice to terminate the
lease. They're trying to charge me for another month that I didn't live
there. (This is in Ohio).
Can they get away with charging me the full 30 days of that month. When I
moved in they prorated my first (half) month.
Could I get away with only paying them for 5 days?
On my lease agreement it states:
"This lease shall be renewed on the expiration of the term on a
month-to-month basis, without any deduction or concession, and on all terms
and conditions and agreements herein contained, without necessity of a new
instrument, unless either party, on or before 30 days next preceding
temrination of any term, shall give notice," ect, ect.....

Asked and Answered. Your post last week gave you some good advice. The
additional information you provided indicates you owe them for 30 days rent.
Again, try to negotiate.
Good Luck:)

What about the pro-rated month idea?

It dosen't give you any legal advantage. The landlord/owner is entitled to
the 30-day notice so they can plan ahead and advertise the property for
rent. The fact that you weren't/aren't actually in the premises is of
little consequence.
