I want to file a smalls claims case. I worked for a person, running errands
and taking pictures for his appraisal company. I was paid a few times with
his company checks, a few times with personal checks. They started slow
paying me and then eventually no paying me until I stopped doing stuff for
him.
He lives in PA, his company is no longer in existence. I live in NJ. All
of the work I did for him was in NJ. He has not denied owing me money and
has made repeated promises to pay me, but has been dodging me, ignoring my
phone calls and email messages.
Can I file the small claims case in my county or do I have to file the case
in the county where he lives?
