My husband has tax liens from the state of Utah totalling $16,000 ($10,000 + $6,000 in fees). The collection agency is unwilling to work out a payment plan with him- basically, it's all or nothing. We live in California, and want to buy a house. Will we be required to pay the Utah liens before we can get a mortgage? We are meeting with a lender soon, but I just wanted to have an idea of what we are facing. Thanks!
