Hi there everyone,
I'm in need of a little advice.
I run a small home based business (company ABC), and one of my clients
is (company DEF). I have no part in company DEF.
The other day I received a call from lawyer who proceeded to inform me
that "we" (and she defined "we" as Company ABC dba Company DEF which
doesn't have an ounce of fact), have infringed on her clients rights
and but she will settle if "we" pay a few hundred dollars to her
client.
I promptly informed her that Company ABC does not do business as
Company DEF and explain that company DEF is merely a client of ours.
She instructed me to fax a letter to her proving that. Well, I did and
now I've started received mail addressed to Company ABC dba Company
DEF. I've simply forwarded them to my client.
Here are my views/concerns/opinions that I need your opinions on.
1.Basic research will clearly outline who company DEF is and that
Company ABC DOES NOT do business as Company DEF. Is it my
responsibility to do her homework for her after I have informed her
that she is mis-directing her attention?
2.Does this sound suspicious to anyone else? She won't disclose her
client, she hasn't performed additional research after I corrected
her, and she'll settle for a few hundred dollars.
3. How can I make her go away?
Your opinions are appreciated.
Alexia
