FDIC Insurance
I wanted to open a bank account at capital one, however, fdic insurance only covers up to 100,000, should I add a joint account holder so it covers me up to 200,000 or should I just take the risk that the bank won't go under with regular FDIC INsurance

I am a NY resident. For 2 months in '03, I worked as a consultant for a company in NJ and I travelled 45 minutes to work everyday from NY to NJ (it's just crossing a small river) I am now quite confused as to how I have to go about filing this self-
