Zemedelec, I presume that the lawyer is the executor or is acting on behalf of the executor. You want him to spend a fair amount if time, which he will bill to the estate, doing things on your behalf. This is not appropriate. Request the contact

Calif limits on %royalties for lawyer's fees?
Are there any Calif limits on the percentage of royalties in lieu of hourly fees that an entertainment lawyer might be allowed to contract for when setting up a license agreement? Someone mentioned that there is legal limit that agents can contract
