My son purchased a used car in Texas. Story was that it had been owned
the previous 2 years by a woman the slaesman knew personally. To make
a long story short, after several repairs, tires, etc. he found that
the car had gone through an Auto Auction less than a year before my
son bought it and that it had been wrecked. The frame was bent. The
used car dealer said he would pay to have the reapairs done and then
refused to pay after it was fixed. Now the frame & body shop won't
release the car to my son. Any possible recourse?

Was it titled as a "rebuilt" or "salvaged" car? If not, someone down
the line messed up. Maybe the insurance co. that totaled it out (paid
off the claim) didn't see to it that the title was then labeled
"salvage". Or a subsequent owner, car dealership, DMV, etc. may have
fouled up in not properly listing it as "salvage". Has he tried taking
the car dealer to small claims court for the repair bill? Worse case
scenario is that the car dealer will perjure himself about agreeing to
the repairs.
