Hi , I am looking for some advice whether to pursue a this in a small claims court. Last September I received a bill from Verizon Wireless for call forwarding charges, I did not request any call forwarding... so I called the company and spoke with a representative to remove the charges, The amount in question was approximately 60 dollars. Verizon stated that they could not remove the charges. I got upset and told the rep to cancel the service. I was told that since my 2 year agreement was still active that I would be billed 175 dollar. Now.. I had a family plan for (2), so the cancellation fee was 350. I replied and told Verizon that I wanted to cancel the contract and that I will NOT pay the charges. In December I broke down and paid all of billed amount including the disputed call forwarding charges. I did not pay the remaining $350. Verizon started collection procedure with a third party agency. Today I am getting harassment calls almost daily. Called Verizon today again to resolve, I was told that Verizon admitted the error charges as a computer glitch, but did not offer to remove the cancellation charges. Offer to sell me another plan. I refuse to pay the cancellation charges, not that I cannot afford to pay, its the principal of the matter. Questions. What can the collection agency do other then ruin my credit rating? This would be welcome, maybe then, I would stop getting 10 applications from credit card companies daily. Can I take Verizon to a small claims court over the matter? All I want is for then to cancel the cancellation charges and any court fees. Any help would be appreciated. Jesse
