What happens when bond is reduiced?

The question occurs to me, what happens when bond is reduiced?
Do bailbondsmen charge by the day, the month, the year, or is it a
flat price?
What happens if bond is set for someone at $500,000 and he can only
post it by using a bail bond company. I've heard they charge 10%. Is
it the same percentage for small bonds as well as large bonds?
So the arrestee pays the fee to get bond posted, and later his
attorney gets his bond reduced. Hasn't he paid the fee alrady?
Is it only worth getting the bond reduced when the arrestee is still
in jail? Or does will the bondsman charge less if the bail is
reduced some time before the trial, etc?
If you are inclined to email me
for some reason, remove NOPSAM :-)
