The question is, were they Republican/Neo-Con children ...? Maybe God's "sending a message" eh? Tests link 2 more child deaths in Colorado to flu By Erin Emery Denver Post Southern Colorado Bureau Friday, December 05, 2003 - COLORADO SPRINGS - Early tests indicate two children - a sixth-grader from Colorado Springs and a 20-month- old from Pueblo - have died of complications from the flu, bringing the number of deaths among Colorado children to seven. While public-health officials have preached for weeks for people to get vaccinations, El Paso County officials raised concerns Thursday about the availability of flu inoculations. "We were informed from our national suppliers that nationwide, they are out of flu vaccine," said Rosemary Bakes-Martin, director of the El Paso County Department of Health and Environment. She said the department will work diligently to acquire the vaccine. Dr. Ned Calonge, chief medical officer with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, said there is enough supply to "vaccinate the people in Colorado who want to be vaccinated." He added that officials were working to find an alternate supplier for El Paso County, which has enough vaccine for half of the 2,500 people on the list to receive shots. A spokesman for vaccine manufacturer Aventis Pasteur, El Paso County's supplier, told KUSA-Channel 9 News that supplies were running thin. Only the more expensive vaccines, which are prepackaged in syringes, are available. The spokesman, Len Lavenda, said it was unprecedented for the company, one of the largest suppliers of inoculations, to receive reorders for flu vaccine in December. In Colorado, representatives for Kaiser Permanente and the Visiting Nurse Association said they had enough vaccine available. Colorado has been hit hard by the virus. In October and November, 6,306 cases were confirmed, more than the total reported in Colorado during the past two years. "We do consider this to be a public-health crisis," said Bakes-Martin. "We have children who are dying, and that is never acceptable to us. We know what we need to do is vaccinate, and we have a concern that we may be out of vaccine." The two southern Colorado children died Wednesday. The sixth-grader, whose name was not released, was a student at Emerson-Edison Charter School in Colorado Springs. Her death was announced at the start of a District 11 Board of Education meeting Wednesday. The girl spent a week in Memorial Hospital before she died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. In Pueblo, a preliminary test in a hospital showed that the 20-month-old toddler had the flu. State health officials will do more tests to confirm results in both cases. They are still working to confirm whether flu caused the Nov. 24 death of a 2-year-old at Children's Hospital in Denver. Meanwhile, a 4-month-old Greeley girl died Tuesday, and the Weld County Coroner's Office has ordered tests to determine whether flu could be the cause, said Corrina Pina-Belmarez, a coroner's investigator. An autopsy showed no signs of trauma and did not immediately reveal a cause of death. Sudden infant death syndrome or other issues could be blamed, the investigator said. State health officials said it's likely the flu will hit hard for another few weeks. "We cannot say we have peaked," said Calonge. "We're still getting an increase in cases. We're in the middle of our flu season, and if we follow the usual path, it would be late to mid-December before we peak, but I could be wrong in either direction." El Paso County has 535 confirmed cases of flu, and Pueblo has at least 300 confirmed cases, said Dr. Chris Nevin-Woods, director of Pueblo City/County Health. At Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, up to 27 of the 30 pediatric beds are filled with children suffering from flu, said Chris Valentine, hospital spokesman. "As soon as they discharge somebody, someone else comes in," Valentine said. Penrose and Penrose Community hospitals, also in Colorado Springs, have admitted 11 children for flu, said Tanya Bell, spokeswoman for the hospitals. A hotline set up by the state health department to field calls about the flu was ringing off the wall. In 11 days ending Nov. 29, there were 10,788 calls, said Lori Maldonado, spokeswoman for the state health department. "People are concerned," she said, "God isn't listening"

oh come now. What he's doing is crying out for a BIG HUG! You see, he feels pretty cheated in life. He wants everyone to believe he is an athiest,, but in fact he isn't or he woulden't be wasting his time posting this kind of stuff. He feels that since he's been dealt such a #@($ty hand, God must hate him. That would be wrong, because even all of the disciples of Christ died terrable deaths for their beliefs, and then it all got written down - nobody was hiding the fact that bad things happen to even the best of people. So deep down, there is a good person even in our lil' voxie! Just love on him a little, say a prayer for him, give him a scratch behind his ear till his lil leg gets to tappen and maybe just someday he'll calm down and realize it's ok to be loved!

As opposed to Spammy, whose twisted penchant, like Rick Santorum(R) of PA, for "man on dog" is well known. Put down the Astroglide, Spammy, and let Rover go. More proof that Republicans and Conservatives are hypocritical immoral freaks. Uncle Samuel wrote:

hypocritical immoral freaks.
They say the same about the left.

Why on Earth would they say that? Left and Center are the only ones thinking rationally and upon teh big picture. Of course, the Right rapes, pillages and profits more, and can then rewrite the rules. It's still wrong, however. The Holy Kafir wrote:

And the Right say that only the Right and Center are being rational, I guess that leaves the center as the only ones being rational.

The past two years has shown more hypocrisy on the Left than on the Right. Since you've no proof of "rape" and "pillage" and certainly no proof of "profits more" than the left, which "profits just as well." that would make this "view" from the left rather suspect.

As a centrist, I would concur.

Oh, I guess Duck Cheney, the ex-Chairman of Halliburton, didn't drive us to war with a oil rich nation and then get his company to enjoy a no-bit reconstruction contract valued at over $4Billion.

This canard, still? I want you to go find out how many comapnies in the world can do what Hallibuton does and also find out how many of them are American companies. When you find an American company that can do the same thing, you let me know.

You're not as dumb as one might suspect on initial impulse, Kaffir.
