Texas Divorce Question

My EX filed for divorce in one county and she will not do anything to move it
forward -- refusing to negotitate. I moved to a new county in Texas more than
six months ago. I was told Ii could file for divorce in the new county. Is that
true? There is a minor age 15 involved. The case has languished for almost two
years.

No. Since there is already a divorce case pending, the only place where
you can file for divorce is in the county in the same case, as a counter-
petition for divorce. And that is what you ought to do, so that you will
be able to move the case forward on your own.

That's two years that you could have, but did not, file your own counter-
petition for divorce in the same case and stop the case from languishing.
Oh well, better late than never.
