I decided to move this discussion to a new thread, and discuss what I have decided so far... I am thinking that first, I should go with what Christopher Green said, and file for a modification to the order, and explain that I do not pose a threat and a reason why I can't live with the order. If the judge still holds to his decision (very likely), I may have another option... I talked with a court clerk this afternoon, keeping in mind that they can't offer advice, but they could point me in the right direction if I asked my question a certain way. They explained to me that I could file a Notice of Appeal with the trial courts. A visit to the State of Washington courts web site revealed that, in most cases, I have 30 days to appeal a judges decision. (So I can take a breather and not rush into this as quickly, as I thought I would only have 10 days). I going to startup a Yahoo group tonight, that'll explainin why I am doing all of this, because it would take about 2-3 pages to explain. Basically it comes down to this... This situation I am in is unique, and a generic solution (i.e. moving on, dropping her kids from my life, etc...) to this problem would not be fair to me, to my ex-girlfriend's kids, or even to my ex. Not to mention this isn't the first time her family has meddled into her business, and in the past has interfered in her relationships with men (even healthy, non-abusive relationships). I will post the URL to the Yahoo group within the next few days... Stephen
