Time to do some spying (I mean bird-watching) with a telephoto lens, If it
was my bird and I suspected they had it, I would definetly be watching
them
and waiting for them to leave and I would go straight to the house and
look
in the windows, if i saw my bird, a window would get broken. Thats what I
would do, I dont think the police would be much help, even if you had
pictures, there are so many tiels that look alike, you would need a
serious
close-up that would show distinguishing markings. Good luck. I hope you
get
Percy back.
This is where the heart meets the mind, though. You could get arrested for
breaking and entering, tresspassing, etc. even if you could prove beyond any
doubts it was your bird and your property the police would still go after
you for your actions. This wouldn't be like finding a relative tied up to a
chair, though those of us who adore birds would argue that fact. I'm no
lawyer of course (nor would I want to be) but you'd think that the logical
thing would be for you to get charged with b&e, tresspassing, and maybe the
people who had your bird charged with receiving stolen property? But if the
bird got away and they found it outside as it was passing by then
technically that wouldn't be receiving...would it?
You have my sympathies, as this really, really sucks and I hope you and your
Percy are reunited soon.
