Hello,
In regards to a writ of posession....in Pennsylvania, the tennants
have 30 days to return to pick up their belongings from the property.
The tennant has not picked up the belongings and it has been 40
days..can I now throw out.
Someone advised that I go to post office and get the forwarding
address for the tennant. Then address a letter to them stating that
on such and such a date thier belongings can be picked up / the day
after that day I will be throwing out. This letter will be certified
w/ tracking and signature confirm.
Any ideas on this...I would like to get rid of the tennants "stuff" ,
but do not want anything to come back to haunt me down the road.
Thanks

You probably have to give them written notice. Check at your local
library for the state's codes and statutes. This may help a little:

That should work. At least you're giving them one last oppurtunity to pick
it up.
You should not have to hold onto it indefinitely.
But send the letter "return receipt requested" so that you know they got it.
You might want to give the final date of pickup as 7 days after the cutoff
date though.
Just in case they show up in between.
After that final cutoff date, trash it.
