Overtime in California

True or false: If a worker in California works more than 8 hours in a
day, they
are entitled to overtime right? Doesn't matter if overall in a week
the only work 24 hours total, 8 hours in a day equals overtime right?

Yes. With limited exceptions, California hourly workers are entitled
to time and a half after working 8 hours a day, double time after 12
hours. See Labor Code sec. 510(a).

Generally, yes. California Labor Code Section 500 holds that time-and-a-half
shall be paid for time worked over 8 hours in a day, and double-time for any
hours over 12. But there are exceptions to this, and it doesn't apply to
everyone.
