I'm determined to decrease the amount of paper in my office by 80%. Most of
it is pay stubs, old tax forms that were done electronically anyway, and
other miscellaneous papers. I've heard that the IRS, in the event of an
audit, would accept electronic files, but I wanted someone who had some
experience with this to confirm that. I run a small business and have many
receipts from 2003. I wonder if those can be scanned and then shredded.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Also, would you recommend saving to CD-R or a Flash drive for long term?
