Florida timeshare

I've got a Florida timeshare (Westgate Vacation Villas) that I've only
used once in the 6 years I've had it. Since I have 4 kids now, I don't
think that I'll ever use it as the air fare for a family this size
from Scotland is to much.
My question is, what could be done if I just stop paying for the
timeshare? I assume that it will be respossed (eventually) and that I
will owe the remainder that they don't get off the sale. Do timeshare
companies (CFI in particular), pursue the remainder of the money off
international debtors? Can I just ask them to take it back as 'Deed in
leiu'? I can't find anyone in the UK that can advise me legally, and I
don't fancy getting legal advice over the phone from thge US (unless
someone can recommend someone?).
I've been trying to sell it for a few years now, but it's obviuosly
not going to sell and it does put a drain on my monthly wage. What a
bloody idiot I was to beleive the sales spiel!!
Any replies will not be taken as legal advice, just wanting to test
the water.
John.
