There was a guy hired by the city of denver as a mechanic who they had to

That was a mere technicality.
Forgetting to tell your employer you're a convicted felon is a
technicality??
The head honcho stated on the news that they wanted the guy back because
he
was the best mechanic they had.
Don't bother to include a source on this or anything, Bullis. And why would
they want him back if he didn't tell them he was a convicted felon?
The thing is though, follow the instructions on the application.
You have to state your driving jobs for the past 10 years, that's federal
law.
If they only want to know about convictions in the past 5 years, do not
inclued this one.
But if you know the company goes into Canada, you'll need to let them know
about it.
So what you're saying is that a convicted felon shouldn't tell his potential
employer? You're an idiot, Bullis.
If they ask, have you EVER been convicted, then answer yes and explain.

I had a felony conviction in 94. It has since been 10yrs. It was a
theft charge stealing over 250.00. I had stolen some car radios.
Can I get by not mentioning this?
How extensive is this check that may be done?
Thanks, Joe
Depends on the job. If you're applying for a blue collar job like
truck driving or working at a factory or warehouse, i wouldn't mention
it. If you tell them, then for legal liability reasons, they'll turn
you down. But the truth is they don't want to know, at least not
about a BS crime like stealing a radio.

There's good advice. Lie to your prospective employer. Do that, and don't be
surprised, if your employer isn't honest with you.
