Driving without a license plate is illegal the last time I checked.

"I wrote up that my license plate needed fixing. Company didn't do a thing
about it. Eventually it busted loose and is buried somewhere now.
I drove the truck anyway. They knew it had no plate.
I was told they were getting a new plate for it.
Still, I wrote it up a few times just to cover my butt.
Eventually I get nailed for it but that's a company fine and they had to
take care of the plate. "
