Reliance Infocomm [for readers unfamiliar with the company, it is a
cellular service provider in India] has published tariffs on their Web
site. Have you examined these?
One of their tariffs is for itemized billing, which is optional at 25
Rs./month. If you didn't order itemized billing, you don't have much
of a claim that they should provide it for nothing.
I have claimed for the itemized bill...That is the first thing I did
RConnect is Reliance's mobile Internet service. It is not free; it
costs 1.00 Rs./minute. If you are or were using this service, you
should expect to pay for it.
I have never used the service. I am not a stupid to use this service
I am already getting internet @ Rs.2.50 per hour. Why do you think
I will pay Rs.1.00 per minute.
These people have put the charges as of their own wish.....
They did the same when this itemized stuff was not there.
They first barred my ISD connection and said to me that I have to pay
a addition deposit of Rs.2000 for using this service. When I brought
the mobile I was told that Every cell phone has this facility bla bla
When I called up the customer support they said why you shut this
service
when I am paying the bills regularly. They said that our policies have
changed
Now to continue this service you have to pay the deposit....
If you were quoted 0.40 Rs./minute for Prepaid, Budget, or Economy
services, this is not the same as their published tariffs, which start
at 1.00 Rs./minute.
If you were quoted free SMS, this is not the same as their published
tariffs, which run 0.50 Rs. to 3.00 Rs. per message.
They even in one bill charged me for the local SMS service.. They said
to me that I have free SMS for the next 3 yrs. The justification given
to me was
"You have Dialed of your friends mobile using 091" well I got a local
SMS
with that number I just replied. I was charged as per Internation
tarrif
@ Rs 4.00 per SMS
I asked clarification. They said we are sorry. We will adjust in our
next
Billing cycle.
Which they did not do so far...........
If you are on an Economy plan, these have monthly minimums of 100 to
200 Rs. Usage up to these minimums is included, but you would be
billed for the minimum even if you use less.
These may have been misrepresented to you; if these misrepresentations
amount to fraud under Indian law, you may have some recourse at law.
Since the amounts in dispute are not large (for US readers, 100 Rs. =
$2.21), the game may not be worth the candle.
The best I can say is that business practices in the Indian cellular
telecom industry are somewhat chaotic, and most companies are
experiencing high churn rate due in no small part to disputes such as
yours.
Well it is a hell fruad in here. And I dont know what to
do??????????????
Pls guide....
