I have drawn up an informal document that outlines the terms that a caretaker
be taken into our home. It states such things as their duties, salary, length
of time to vacate, and that they are responsible for their own property. My
name is just mentioned above. Do I have to sign this also, or just the
caretaker? It will be notarized. Need an answer quickly.
Thanks!

If it is to be a contract, both parties must sign it. The
employer and the employee. If it is instructions and rules from
the employer, then it's a one-way communication and nobody needs
to sign it. You can have the employee sign to prove that it was
given to the employee, but the signature would have no other legal
significance.
