For a number of years I have been harrassed; first by phone, then mail and now with a summons, for an unpaid loan by somebody with a similar name, who lived nearby for a short period of time. But, neither the first creditor (Providian National Bank) nor the second (Colorado Capital Investments Inc.), nor the collection agency made any attempt to determine if my address was in any way connected to him. They ignored every letter I sent stating I was not any way related to that person, that his ex-wife lived only one block away (if they checked.) But, still they would fill my answering machine daily so that no other messages could get through. Now, that person, at my address is being summoned to court. I received a letter from another law firm offering to defend me! Obviously, I am not going, but is there any chance that eventually my credit might be affected? This is in NYC. Also I am disabled with a stress related disorder and NEED them to stop harrassing me! Thanks in advance Mike Mc

All- Apparantly more information is required. The person's last name is identical, according to the mailings. My surname is fairly common and often spelled two ways with an "i" or an "a". The mail to me is spelled with an "i", but his first and middle name s are entirely different. My DOB is app. 10 years older. I refuse to give my SS number as they never identified his in their correspondence and I don't want mine used against me. He lived temporarily at 255-27 .. Ave I live at 255-26 .. Ave on the even side of the street. Going to civil court in Queens is a hardship, plus the summons is not for me Michael G., but for a Richard A.. So actually I am being summoned, the other guy is. But, that does not stop the harrassment. Mail is one thing. I replied to each firm once and now I save it. But, tying up my phones and waking me during a severe attack of my illness is another. I had my Identity stolen many years ago, so I will only supply them with enough to prove their mistake (Utility Bills, etc), but not personal information. Thanks for your time Mike
