She judges his manhood
Even Judge Judy would blush.
When a defendant belligerently suggested that Manhattan Criminal Court
Judge Shawndya Simpson perform a sex act on him, her honor came back
with a less than honorable retort:
"You're too small for me," said Simpson, a former Brooklyn district
attorney, sources said.
The comment came during a recent off-the-record exchange witnessed by
court personnel, sources said. The defendant had gotten an unfavorable
ruling from Simpson, prompting his lewd remark.
Simpson was elected last fall and took the bench Jan. 1.
"They guy obviously got her goat, and it is unfortunate," said a court
observer who requested anonymity.
The ribald exchange became the talk of the courthouse, eventually
coming to the attention of Supervising Judge Martin Murphy. Both
Murphy and Simpson, a respected jurist in the criminal court, referred
calls to courts spokesman David Bookstaver.
"It was unclear exactly what words were exchanged," Bookstaver said.
He would not comment further on the case.
