Counter Claim In Small Claims

Sorry about all the questions but I've never been to court before. What I need
to know is if a counter claim is made, can the amount latter be changed in
court, or part of the claim be withdrawn then? It would be for breach of
contract. I have 5 days to file the counter claim, and I can't reach my witness
to know if she will support me, as she is out of the country. I also am filing
another charge that will also be on the counter claim that I can support now. I
know I can file it latter, but it would then be a cause for an adjournment.
Thanks!

File both counterclaims now. If one of them fails at trial, that's ok. You
don't even have to amend if that happens. Simply prove one counterclaim.
The judge will not give you credit for the one you didn't prove, and that's
the end of it.
