ttp://www.chesstheory.de/fisher12.html Fischer Interview 12/09/2001 on World Trade Center Attack This is a transcript from the available mp3-file(*) of the (19th?) Bobby Fischer interview taken shortly after the attack on the world trade center 11/09/2001. Thanks also to P. van der Hoog for providing some parts (*) mp3-files of all the interviews at the japanese URL http://home.att.ne.jp/moon/fischer/ previous interviews -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr Mercado about this interview: "Bobby rang me up while he was watching the events in New York live on television. He felt so strongly about what he was watching, he wanted to say the American government had it coming to them. I was shocked but not surprised. I know his views about America because I have spoken to him on a number of occasions and met him through our mutual friend Eugene Torre. It is Bobby Fischer without a shadow of a doubt." Mr Mercado said that Mr Fischer had put on weight since his last public appearance and talked constantly of his old chess matches. He always carried chess books with him. The Telegraph tracked down Mr Fischer to his hideaway in Japan on Friday but he put the telephone down... Mr Fischer is already wanted for questioning by the FBI for breaking UN sanctions by taking part in a chess match in Serbia against Boris Spassky in 1992 - his first for 20 years. The match broke sanctions imposed by the United Nations and in a controversial move he was indicted in the United States. President George Bush, the father of the current president, gave his personal approval for the legal action. I think it was with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas, it was based on a book. I saw that years ago. Pablo: Yes I did Fischer: That was more than a plain gesture. Pablo: Yeah, yeah. Fischer: I was really for the generals, you know. but in the end the president of the so-called democracy won. But I'm hoping for some kind of a Seven Days In May scenario in the lakes of Ontario, where the country will be taken over by the military, all the civil guards, to close down all the synagogues, arrest all the Jews, execute hundreds of thousand of Jewish ringleaders, and ,you know, apologize to the Arabs for the killing, .. for all the Jews over there of that bandit state, you know Israel. I'm hoping for a totally new world. Pablo: Really? Fischer: Yeah. Nobody here gives a #@($ about the Japanese. How many hundreds of thousand people did the US kill with the atom bombs , justifying it with the most ridiculous excuse that it saved millions American soldiers, when Japan would gonna surrender in a few weeks or month or so anyway. Right? The United State is based on lies, is based on theft. Look what I have done for the US. Nobody has single handily done more for the US them me, I really believe in this. When I won the World Championship in 1972, the United States had an image of ,you know, a football country, baseball country, but nobody thought of it as an intellectual country. I turned all that around single handily, right? But I was useful then because it was the cold war, right? But now I'm not useful anymore, you see, the cold war is over and now they want to wipe me out, get everything I have, put me into prison. You have to go back to the root of history of the country, look at the history of the country. Get something for nothing. Take and kill. Rob the country, they don't come in a civilized manner and say we like to marry your women, and so on. No, they take your land and they kill you off. That's the history of the US. Why did the white man not come to America, like in a civilized manner, preaching freedom of religion, say we like to come here. We like to assimilate, we like to marry your women. But no, we take your land and kill you off , right? Bring over slaves from Africa. That's the history of the United States. A despicable country, you know. Even as a boy I never had the slightest interest in the history of the US, I knew their was something rotten in Denmark. (..) The US just will not do what they have to do. The US has to say we're sorry, our whole foreign policy has been wrong for the last several hundred years, we are going to pull back all our troops from all over the world, we are not going stop support Israel and so on. But they only will say that this cowardly act will be punished. (..) Democracy is just a load of bull#@($, it is just a cover for the criminal nature of the United States of Ameri

Oh what is NYC to do, when one of its favorite sons turns against it so viciously?
Gordon obviously has nothing against the anti-Semitic rants Bobby Fisher had.
Clarification: I no way endorse Fischer's comments, but find it interesting how those in NYC, where he was a demi-God for decades, would view them. It's very conflicting.

Fischer: But I'm hoping for the Seven Days In May scenario, where sane people will take over the US, military people. They will imprison the Jews, they will execute several hundred thousand of them, at least.
Fischer: I think the Jews want to drive the elephants to extension, because the trunk of the elephant reminds them of an uncircumcised penis.
Fischer: Jews are sick, they are mental cases
Or how about Fischer's belief in the separation of races?
Fischer: And ultimately the white man should leave the US, the black man should go back to Africa, the white back to Europe, and the country should be returned to the American Indians who lived there for, who knows how many, ten of thousands of years.
If Gordon wants to throw his lot in with people like Fisher and JimSummers87, it says quite a bit about him and "civil rights" advocacy.

Grp, Do you imagine that since Mr. Fischer is a nasty little misanthrope, that this somehow mitigates your own worthlessness? Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Your 9/11 tantrum exposes your character, and the fact that Jerry Falwell, Bobby Fischer, or anyone else took the opportunity to try to draw attention to themselves does not redeem you in any way. -jcr

Demigod? What are you talking about? He was a chess player, and even at the height of his publicity I doubt that one in ten New Yorkers even knew who he was. Anyhow, this goes to show that talent in playing a game is not necessarily correlated with any other positive traits. -jcr

My recollection is that at the height of his fame anyone who read newpapers or magazines or watched TV knew who Bobby Fischer was - the first Master of the West to challenge and break the lock of the USSR on the world championship. And calling Bobby Fischer a "chess player," is like calling Mozart a competent keyboard artist.

Perhaps you need to learn the history here before opening your yap so I can spank you and send you on your way again, Gordon is desperate to show that other people (who he thinks are respected) made comments similar to his about 9/11. Any time an American bested the Soviets, that person gained instant fame. You can cross-reference Van Cliburn for another example of this. My recollection is that at the height of his fame anyone who read newpapers or magazines or watched TV knew who Bobby Fischer was - the first Master of the West to challenge and break the lock of the USSR on the world championship. Are you calling Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a "two-bit geek who'd never come close to leaving a mark in the arts the way Fischer did?" If so, you're quite mistaken. Mozart's music is some of the most recognized in the entire world. Some people claim that Mozart was the greatest musician ever, and it's not impossible to come to that conclusion after listening to his body of music from operas to concertos to piano solos to symphonies. Mozart's music simply sounds perfect.
Like in that movie "About Schmidt," where Schmidt pointed out that he'd never be remembered for anything.
Are you talking about the composer Schmitt, who is best known for a series of exercise books still being used by pianists throughout the world? I'll confess to not seeing the movie so I don't exactly know who you're talking about, but since we're on the sub-topic of music, the assumption can be reasonable--and does not negate the statement that follows. Some people are humble and self-effacing. Whether we're remembered for anything depends on whether we produce something that is of enough value (positive or negative) for others to remember it. It is far easier to be remembered for something negative than for something positive. Mozart and Schmitt have been remembered for something positive. Beethoven has been remembered for something positive. Igor Stravinsky has been remembered for something positive. Johann Sebastian Bach has been remembered for something positive. Even Arnold Schnberg will be remembered for something positive. You, Gordon, on the other hand, will be remembered (if at all) for attempting to convince the general public that women deserve to be beaten, raped, and murdered because of the way they treat you.
That's the price people pay for becoming corporate drones.
Well, I'm becoming very well recognized as a music editor. I've had composers specifically request me as their editor, because they know that not only am I thorough; I'm also very easy to work with. I've actually had teachers call the company I work for and ask that I create a definitive edition of certain piano works. James King

I had the privilege of singing "Anthem" from the musical "Chess" to Viktor Kochnoi in Sweden, at the first grand chess tournament held in Scandinavia. When I told my colleagues about it, none of them knew who Kochnoi was. J. P.S. To keep the records straight, Kochnoi was Fishers opponent in that famous tournament in the 60's.

No, no, no... Anyone who reposts "Ray's" rants is guilty of reposting them so that "Ray" can't hide from them.
All I was doing was taking your pretzel logic and untwisting it.
The only thing in knots around here, are your panties, Buck... What Mr. Kaufmann said was, Ray is trying to ride the coattails of a more substantial public figure than himself. Ray has claimed to be a "Civil Rights Activist", but is clearly associating himself with bigots and racists, and this does not bode well for Gordon Roy's credibility. I notice how you had to snip the entire exchange to make your statement the only word on the subject. That's all I need to know about you. Nice try though.

The only reason people did know about Fischer was because of the Cold War. Any time an American bested the Soviets, that person gained instant fame. You can cross-reference Van Cliburn for another example of this.
That's simply not true. Fischer was known because of the brilliance of his gamesmanship, and at a very youthful age. And anyone reading his games even today recognizes that. It was his genius which took him to the championship match, and increased his fame to legendary status, but he was famous before that victory.

That's "Korchnoi."

Yes yes yes. Alex stated very clearly that he believes that "Ray" supported Fischer's rant merely for reposting it. Which by the same pretzel logic means that reposting the rants posted by "Ray" means that the reposter supports them. You can't have it both ways.
RAY claims that anyone quoting things he said, is evidence of conspiracy to commit ridicule. Get this straight, willya? This is important stuff!
This has nothing to do with the point that I was making.

Considering that "Ray Gordon" is nothing but your creation, a sock puppet/straw man/bad guy invented to enrich the "seduction gurus" who sell CRAP to SUCKERS desperate to ejaculate inside of a female, well what does that say about you?

I snipped the entire exchange because anyone who wants to read it can scroll up to the previous posts in this thread.
That's all I need to know about you.
Gee, and we didn't even have sex. You don't know what you're missing. LOL@U
Nice try though.
So this is the only way you can respond to me destroying your faulty pretzel logic? Hell at least I tried!

Maybe in the parts of the messages you snipped, you could show me where I said that. You can't and that's why you snipped the original messages. Let me refresh your memory. If Gordon wants to throw his lot in with people like Fisher and JimSummers87, it says quite a bit about him and "civil rights" advocacy.
What part of this is "stat(ing) very clearly" that I believe Gordon supports the rant simply because he reposted it? Funny how right after I asked if you needed help with understanding what the conditional "if" means, you snipped the entire exchange.
Which by the same pretzel logic means that reposting the rants posted by "Ray" means that the reposter supports them. You can't have it both ways.
No one's trying to but you. I've already shown you that you're wrong but you keep snipping messages and beating a dead horse.
This has nothing to do with the point that I was making.
And the point that you were making was incorrect. I've already shown you how it rests on a faulty assumption. You just snip the parts you can't respond to and go flying off again.
Considering that "Ray Gordon" is nothing but your creation, a sock puppet/straw man/bad guy invented to enrich the "seduction gurus" who sell CRAP to SUCKERS desperate to ejaculate inside of a female, well what does that say about you?
Another faulty assumption that has been dealt with before. All you've got is snipping and ignoring the facts. It's no wonder people think you're Gordon.

You snipped the entire exchange because I showed that your assumption was wrong. And rather than admitting that you overreacted based on your dislike of me, you snipped the exchange and continued on as if nothing had been said. I'm finding it easier to understand why some people think you're Gordon.
