Advice on Defensive Driving

I received a speeding citation in Georgia but am licensed in another state.
I am told that GA does not have a "defensive driving" program to defray a
citation from one's driving record. Rather, the state has a "point reduction"
program, whereby the citation goes on the record, but the offender can have it
"removed," or points reduced to zero, but only if the offender is a licensed
driver in GA.
My state does not share this point system, but I am told that the National
Safety Council is supposed to ensure reciprocity of such programs in all
states.
Any advice on defraying this offense from my record other than dismissal at
court?

Go ahead and take the class. I believe it doesn't really matter what sort of a
points-reduction program Georgia has--- what matters is what sort of a program
YOUR state has.
