This is one of the most disturbing trends in hiring practices today.
People who have been the victims of great misfortune, those in most
need of a job, are rejected on the basis of a credit report that has
nothing to do with their ability to perform. Thus they are blacklisted
into even greater poverty.-Jitney
I agree.........whats next? Medical records? Why not? I was shocked
the first time I applied for a job and was asked to give consent to a
credit check. the job in point I had applied for and I'm about 99%
certain I did not sign consent to pull my credit. I was called in for
a second interview and was astounded when the interviewer mentioned my
credit report and was holding it in his hand. I wanted the job, so of
course I said nothing. I got the job but after working one week 10.5
hrs per day and taking one 30 min lunch I was called a lazy ass by the
guy who hired me. I decided I could not work for someone like that and
quit. But I'm still upset that my credit was pulled without consent.
