Need to identify press cuttings - Damien Daley

I've been sent two recent press cuttings reporting the gaoling of Damien
Daley, the guy who fitted up Michael Stone, but there is no indication
of where they were published.
Daley's conviction was reported in "Kent On Sunday" where it was said he
would be sentenced April 23. These cuttings don't appear to come from
that paper. One is called "Key witness in Stone trial jailed", the other
is called "Murder case witness jailed for four years".
Any help appreciated.

Did Daley fit up Stone? Is this now proven or are you presenting personal
opinion as fact?

Ask a newsagent or a paper (delivery) "person" (aka paperboy/girl), if
they still exist. When I did a paper-round (a few decades ago) I could
have a pretty good idea which paper a cutting came from. Call it sixth
sense if you wish but I think it was more to do with the feel and
appearance of the paper, the type style, and the ink density. Could be
worth a try. If you only narrow it down to a few newspapers you can
then do a more detailed search.

Have you tried a search on some of the phrases in the article? Might be
online somewhere...

If in London try Colindale
http://www.bl.uk/collections/newspapers.html
a huge collection of regional newspapers.
Never visited personally so don't know if all
the current ones are on open display for cross-
comparing.
I may be wrong on the next as I was actually
looking for circulation figures, years ago.
In major reference libraries there is an annual
data source on all UK newspapers - Benn's Media?.
I seem to remember it has technical details
of each newspaper's principal type-face - font,point,ems.
The national Guardian newspaper has hopeless
and distinctive kerning between 'r' and 'n' for instance
so reference to the "Tate Modern" reads as
"Tate Modem"
What they aren't telling you about DNA profiles
and what Special Branch don't want you to know.
