Hi, I'm an electrical engineer, currently finishing up a Master's degree in semiconductor electronics. A friend of mine mentioned that I should get into patent law. Could someone answer the following questions for me? 1) Would my engineering background help me get hired by a good law firm? 2) Is patent law rewarding? How do I know if this is something for me? 3) What is the money like? If looking purely at income, would I be better off getting hired as a design engineer in silicon valley, or investing another 3 years (going into significant debt) and getting hired as a patent lawyer? Can anyone out there with a similar background answer any of these for me? Thanks.
