The saddest part of the story may be that the victim is foolish enough to
think money - to be sought through a civil suit - will fix her problems. It
is more likely she will live in existential hell for the rest of her life
because she may forever be viewed as the defense tried to portray her, as
mentally unstable and promiscuous, someone who saw Bryant as the source of a
big payday. Absent a trial, the public is unlikely to know the truth. The
only remedy was for the victim to take the stand and tell the truth. Win or
lose, she could have held her head high. Instead, she used the system as
leverage to ratchet up the value of her civil case and then she sold out.
For this, she should hang her head in shame.

Hey, she's in line for "Girls of the NBA," the Xmas issue.
And Hustler thinks she could be a Hustler Honey, based on her spread
shots. She'll need her hood pierced, though.
Katelynn was the first in her high school class to get her nips
pierced, the fourth to get her tongue pierced, and just about the last
to get a clit job. What's _with_ this hoe?

Or because that's exactly what she is. Or god forbid, because she
feels guilty for the lies she told and the trouble she put everyone thru,
not least her family, friends, and fellow Coloradans.
Absent a trial, the public is unlikely to know the truth.
Correct. WHATEVER that may be.

Well! A blood-sucking feminist toad and I agree on something!

That's only half the truth. To make it the whole truth, elide "Absent a
trial." What we get from a trial is a verdict, not "the truth."
Here's the truth...she screwed...she demanded money...he laughed at her.
She tried extortion. He said he'd spend the money on his wife instead.
She cried rape, because she had been convinced by the racism industry
that any black guy accused of raping a white woman was doomed. She found
out that that meant any unknown black guy accused of raping a white
woman who hasn't already @$#*ed most of the guys she ever met.

All Kobe has to do to clear his good name is to meet her in civil court,
present his evidence, give his testimony, answer hers.
He can have his attorneys cross-examine her vicious lies, expose her for the
money grubber she is, destroy her fabric of mendacity and regain Kobe's well
deserved reputation as family man, father and all round good sportsman.
Well, as long as they can't admit his confession and public apology- you
know.
Surely, now that the hazard of a false criminal conviction is past, Kobe
will want to finally assure that the Truth be Told and his innocence
demonstrated. A civil case will be far cheaper on him- no need for 700
pleadings or a tot at $12M.
You know; if he wants to do it.
for Vanessa's sake, and the Baby-

He gave a humiliating public apology to everybody in Colorado for the last
three generations.
An apology so incriminating that it has to be excluded from use in a civil
trial, or serve as a prima facie admission of guilt.
He had to give her props for her sincerity and integrity, accept culpability
for his bad behaviour and the pain it caused she and her family.
Any exclusion from a trial of her complaint for damages wouldn't preclude
it's use in any suit by Kobe against her.
He's fooked.

Nah; the prison system is full of basketball fans.

Yup.
Hard to get a rich man, of whatever color, convicted of raping the help.
But she sure did make him crawl, and he ain't got away yet.

Heaven forbit Wendy Murphy would admit that there was no rape.
Or if this was "the worst rape she had ever seen", she hadn't seem
much.
She's all bluster, and no guts.

Bryant is sincerely sorry he let her talk him into doing her. The guy gets
more pussy than Frank Sinatra, and he sure as hell didn't need that one.

How could she hold her head high if she falsely accused a man of rape?
Instead, she used the system as
