Just out of curiousity, do you know the percentage of married people who get divorced? I'll be damned,...it's about 50%. <shakes head> Don't let that sway you, though. Continue with your propaganda. Hey Bogey,...friend of yours?

Which means that the percentage of "non-smokers" who had been divorced is 51%. So that tells me that non-smokers are LESS likely to hold on to their marriage, or to conduct a long-lasting relationship. No surprise there...

You've got it backwards. It doesn't say "Percentage of divorced people who were smokers". What it means is that 51% of smokers remain married. Not that it matters. The percentage of married people who divorce is still around 50%. Which means that married smokers are about the same as all other married people.

No, it doesn't mean that at all. Try again.
Not that it matters.
Especially since your claim is false.
The percentage of married people who divorce is still around 50%.
Irrelevant.
Which means that married smokers are about the same as all other married people.
Wrong again.

Asks the statistically challenged "smoker idiots".
I have to assume you were born this way.
Like you falsely assume "that 51% of smokers remain married."
I smoke,... you @$#*ing dolt!
Yep, and you got it wrong also, although you were 1/2 right, which is more than the other tobacco junkie morons who illustrated their drug-addled spongiform brain dysfunction.
...and I just proved to you that the original post was ignorant propaganda.
You only proved that you were 1/2 as stupid as the other lowlife smoker idiots.
<shakes head> Fuckin' kids.
Fucking idiot smoker. Ain't it time for you to suck down some more tobacco smoke, addict?

Actually, all three of you are wrong. The percentage of non-smokers who were divorced can't be extrapolated from the percentage of smokers who were divorced. BTW - In 2002, the US Census Bureau reported the overall divorce rate at 50%. The one percent difference in favor of smokers staying married is statistically insignificant.

Maybe. But if that 1% difference was in favor of Non-Smokers, they'd be bellowing about it for the next 2 weeks.

I still like my interpretation better. Besides, my interpretation is sure to piss off the anti-smokers and get them all hysterical, which is a good way of entertaining the regulars on this newsgroup. :-)

Why? A conclusion based on a statistically insignificant result is meaningless. There isn't anything to bellow about one way or the other.
