On the tow path of the Union canal (Edinburgh=>Falkirk) there are several"Cyclists dismount" signs whilst it may be silly too ignore theses signs is there any law that states you MUST obey these signs. On uk.rec.cycling the land reform act (Scotland) 2003 was quoted along with the statement that you could cycle/walk almost anywhere but "British Waterways" issues a permit to cycle on canal towpaths and they may withdraw the permission to cycle at any time. -- yours S Nihil curo de ista tua stulta superstitione
