Kobe Bryant's statements about last summer's event to sheriff's
investigators, and a compact disc recording of the interview, was mailed to
the Vail Daily anonymously Wednesday. The large, brown envelope carried a
Denver postmark and no return address. The CD recording contained the voices
of Eagle County Sheriff's Det. Doug Winters, Eagle County Sheriff's Det.
Doug Loya and Bryant as Bryant was interviewed the night after he alleged
raped a 19-year-old Eagle woman at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera June 30,
2003.
Bryant said the first time the alleged victim had said "no" was when he
asked if she would allow him to perform a sex act on her that she refused to
allow. He said she said "no" only once, and once was all it took for him to
stop.
After Loya asked if the sex was consensual, Bryant said that it was, and
that he stopped the first time she said "no." Bryant said she did not cry,
as prosecutors said she did, and that she asked him for an autograph when
she kissed him goodbye. Bryant told her he'd give her those autographs the
next day, and that he'd learned during their conversation the young woman
would be working.

And discussion of it from people who have read it.

Here's some more from the article.
Asking for truth
Winters said he wanted to give Bryant an opportunity to tell the truth, and
that if something had happened, they would find out about it.
Winters said he did not believe Bryant's story at face value, pointing out
that when confronted by the two detectives, Bryant's initial reaction was to
lie, saying he had not had sex with the young woman.
"You lied to us right off the bat," said Winters.
Winters said he was skeptical about Bryant's statement that the sex was
consensual, and that Bryant didn't seem all that clear on the details.
Bryant expressed surprise that the alleged victim suffered genital injuries
and bleeding, and provided his white boxer shorts to the detectives while
they were collecting evidence.
Early in the questioning, Bryant asked, "Is there any way I can settle this
.... whatever it is? If my wife found out anybody made allegations about me,
she'd be furious."
As questioning began, and the issue of sexual assault was broached, Bryant's
first reaction was to express concern for his career and his image. He then
told detectives he had done nothing, and later expressed concern about his
wife finding out, and said his wife and daughter were all that mattered to
him.

I said 'three times'.
The progression was that his spokesman was interviewed first; said there was
no event at all. Then, when presented with the fact that there *was* an
event, it was admitted, but they said that Kobe wasn't involved.
Then, Kobe was interviewed and said he didn't 'have sex with that woman'.

she kissed you and then she said, and then she said now, I dont
want to do ths, I dont want this to happen. Okay.

Bryant: Um, you know, thats when I asked if I could ..., she said no.
Detective Loya: So you like to ... ?
Bryant: Thats my thing, not always, I mean, so I stopped. Jesus
Christ man. (Inaudible).
12. More on consent:
Detective Winters: So how was this, how was this consensual, I mean,

Detective Winters: She did?
Bryant: She did.

Bryant: Yeah it was quick.
Detective Loya: Then what happened?
Bryant: Wait not, I mean like she was, kept on doing, I just told her
to get up (inaudible) she didnt know what she was doing.
14. More on consent:
Bryant: It was consensual, there was nothing weird you know what I mean.
Detective Winters: Did she say anything to do to provoke any of this
to happen?
(Elevator door ringing.)
Bryant: She said she wanted to, you know, she hoped that I would ...
her.
Detective Winters: When did she say that?
Bryant: Im trying to think how it came about, how ...

Kobe Bryant's statements about last summer's event to sheriff's
investigators, and a compact disc recording of the interview, was mailed to
the Vail Daily anonymously Wednesday. The large, brown envelope carried a
Denver postmark and no return address.
Nice.
So prosecution and sherrif's office can leak this to the media, but when
some court worker accidentally sent transcripts to the media, it was a
defense conspiracy to destroy the accuser?
Only chas and tjab morons would support such liars.
The CD recording contained the voices
of Eagle County Sheriff's Det. Doug Winters, Eagle County Sheriff's Det.
Doug Loya and Bryant as Bryant was interviewed the night after he alleged
raped a 19-year-old Eagle woman at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera June 30,
2003.
Bryant said the first time the alleged victim had said "no" was when he
asked if she would allow him to perform a sex act on her that she refused to
allow. He said she said "no" only once, and once was all it took for him to
stop.
Which proves that Kobe is honest when he said that he thinks that it was
consensual.
Which is consistent with what the night shift manager said about the
accuser was not upset when she came back, and stayed late to wrap up her
work as usual.

And discussion of it from people who have read it.

Apparently Kobe was willing to take a polygraph test.
But the accuser would not, citing that she was threatened and stalked.
Nice try, but the accuser is a sinking ship and her civil case is in
shambles like one of the legal analysts in ESPN said.

According to the detectives.
Remember, these are the same douche bags who went behind the DA to
obtain an arrest warrant, and then ordered the infamous T-shirts.
Early in the questioning, Bryant asked, "Is there any way I can settle
this
... whatever it is? If my wife found out anybody made allegations about
me,
she'd be furious."
A *bribe*?
When the lie didn't work?
Quelle surprise.
He was talking about the accuser, not the detectives, you @$#*ing idiot.
You must be a gestapo interrogator.
As questioning began, and the issue of sexual assault was broached,
Bryant's
first reaction was to express concern for his career and his image.
Yeah; the fans are so worried about a ballplayer caught with a road groupie.
Yes his image, you retard.
All those endorsement deals, and his career.
But you seem to have problems reading that.
He then
told detectives he had done nothing, and later expressed concern about his
wife finding out, and said his wife and daughter were all that mattered to
him.
Yeah; Kobe the Family Man- wait till his daughter finds out what he likes to
do to Mommy.
Yeah wait for Kate's kids in the future when they ask her:
What kind of an innocent "victim" would sleep with three men in less
than 3 days?
What kind of a slut would try to lock an innocent man to get money out
of him?
And so on.
Only morons like you still think that the accuser has any credibility or
Kobe is guilty.

Why this guy escaped jail time is a simple travesty of the legal
system. He is 90% O.J., basically.
He "escaped" because of this.
First judge's comments.
"Almost all of the evidence introduced at the preliminary hearing
permits multiple inferences which, when viewed either independently or
collectively, and upon reasonable inference, do not support a finding
of probable cause. Simply put, this court could not make a finding of
probable cause ... absent reliance upon those inferences supportive of
the people's case."
The 2nd judge said this about dismissing the case.
"Having reviewed the motion, having heard the representations of the
district attorney, and Mr. Clune on behalf of the victim, I find that there
is no evidence, let alone clear and convincing evidence, that the interests
of the defendant or the public would be jeopardized by granting the district
attorney's request."

Detective Loya: Just be straight up, were not gonna tell your wife or
anything like that. Did you have sexual intercourse with her?
Bryant: Uh, this is what I need to know because uh I did have sexual
intercourse with her. Cause I was (inaudible whisper).
Detective Winters: And I understand.
Detective Loya: Okay, was it consensual?
Bryant: It was totally consensual.
And lots of people say that he admitted rape.
Interesting how so many people cannot read.
5. Start of sex:
Bryant: [. . .] (Inaudible) come back (inaudible) or whatever and uh
shes like all right cool, cool, cool. We were still only this close
and she gets up and she gives me a kiss so I kiss her back and then
you know I started caressing her or whatever and then she puts her
hand on my you know my thing or whatever and it kinda goes from there.
Nice she starts sex and then cries rape.
9. On the chair:
Detective Winters: Where was she bent over at?
Bryant: Theres um, a little um, chair, like a cushion where you sit
down, and she had her leg up, she bent herself over like this.
Detective Loya: Where were her hands, what were her hands holding up on?
Bryant: On the um, I assume over the, over the back of the chair.
She had her leg up, and then cries that she was rape.
She showed him a tattoo on her ass and then wonders why he asks her to
have sex with him.
12. More on consent:
Detective Winters: So how was this, how was this consensual, I mean,
wha, wha, explain to me how this was consensual.
Bryant: It sounds pretty ... crazy to me. (Inaudible) and all that.
Detective Winters: Well no, no, no, no explain to me how you think
this was consensual?
Bryant: How was it not, I mean she, we ...
Detective Winters: You mutually kissed theres no question about that.
Bryant: We mutually kissed.
Detective Winters: Did you start ...?
Bryant: She bent herself over ...
Detective Winters: No, no, no, no. Okay, let me back up to the kissing,
okay, at the kissing point okay, did anything escalate at that point,
foreplay type issues, you know what Im grabbing?
Bryant: Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, sure, sure.
Detective Winters: No she put her hand on my penis and thats it, and
then she started playing with that (inaudible).
13. Oral sex:
Detective Winters: Okay. Okay. Um, did she give you oral sex or
anything like that?
Bryant: Yes, she did.
Detective Winters: She did?
Bryant: She did.
Detective Winters: For how, when did that happen?
Bryant: For like 5 seconds. I said um, give me a blow job, um, and
then (inaudible) kiss it (inaudible) she gave me a blow job.
Detective Loya: So the blow job lasted about 5 seconds.
Bryant: Yeah it was quick.
Detective Loya: Then what happened?
Bryant: Wait not, I mean like she was, kept on doing, I just told her
to get up (inaudible) she didnt know what she was doing.
A very innocent "victim" that went to his room just for autographs.
ROFLMAO.
16. More on when they stopped:
Detective Winters: I understand this puts you in a weird position.
Obviously. This is a serious allegation and, and what Id like to do
is Id like you to hear me out. Um, okay, um, and I understand this
is a serious allegation and obviously if this turns out to be a false
allegation shes obviously gonna be dealt with accordingly okay. Um,
but, we do have an allegation right now okay and I feel um, and I
understand that you claim that this was consensual okay, um, do you
think theres any possibility that at some point during this entire
incident that she said no and it just happened to go on a little bit
further and it just and then you quit.
Bryant: No. I stopped (inaudible), I stopped.
Detective Winters: When did she, when did you stop, what, what made
you stop?
Bryant: Well I asked her about the ... thing and she was like no, I
dont know.
Detective Loya: How many times did you ask her?
Bryant: Once.
Detective Winters: Okay, all right, okay. You said, when, did it stop
at that point?
Bryant: Um, did I stop? (Inaudible) She went like this (inaudible), I
asked her if I could ... and she was like no um, I thought she was
cool, you know, I stopped. I stopped pumping and uh, I just, I just
stood there like this (inaudible) and um, then she just moved like this.
She asked him to stop he stopped, no rape occurred.
17. More on blackmail:
Detective Winters: Um, what, why do you think she would make an
allegation like that?
Bryant: I have no idea, thats exactly what Im saying, thats exactly
what Im saying, she must want money or something. It has to be that,
because you guys (inaudible) because Im telling you man, I swear on
my life, I did not, I did not sexually assault her in no kind of way
whatsoever man. I though she was (inaudible).
But tjab and chas say that Kobe admitted raping and assaulting her, and
that this tape is incriminating.
18. Just an interesting comment:
Detective Winters: [. . .] I you know, I look at it this way, shes
an attractive young lady okay.
Bryant: She wasnt that attractive.
You should have known better.

Here's some more from the article.
Asking for truth
Winters said he wanted to give Bryant an opportunity to tell the truth, and
that if something had happened, they would find out about it.
----
Very good. A very fair way of dealing with things to give the man a
chance to defend himself. If he lies about something directly about
the incident to them then it is his burden not the detectives, they
gave him a chance. Too bad the NYPD does not understand this but that
is another matter.
Winters said he did not believe Bryant's story at face value, pointing out
that when confronted by the two detectives, Bryant's initial reaction was to
lie, saying he had not had sex with the young woman.
"You lied to us right off the bat," said Winters.
----
See? Now the burden is on Kobe for lying about that, not indicative of
rape but goes to credibility. Major point of stupidity on Kobe's
point. But, like President Clinton, he could had been lying about
having sex with her because he was married. It does look bad. Goes to
show if you are accussed of sexual assualt, you have better come clean
with everything up front, even cheating on your wife. I can understand
why the detectives would say, if he lied about this, maybe he would
lie about something more serious like rape.
Oh, and I have read that Kobe protrayed himself as the ultimate family
man to his team mates to the point that he would treat them with scorn
about them cheating on their wives. Then this happens. I am sure
people said, especially those who resented his holier than thow
attitude about infidelity, if he lied about being a loyal husband,
maybe......
Winters said he was skeptical about Bryant's statement that the sex was
consensual, and that Bryant didn't seem all that clear on the details.
----
Could be nerves. What kind of details did the detectives want? Exact
body positions?
Bryant expressed surprise that the alleged victim suffered genital injuries
and bleeding, and provided his white boxer shorts to the detectives while
they were collecting evidence.
-----
That speaks well in his favor, if they are the shorts he wore during
the encounter that is.
Early in the questioning, Bryant asked, "Is there any way I can settle this
... whatever it is? If my wife found out anybody made allegations about me,
she'd be furious."
-----
Again, he is afraid about his wife finding out and blowing his career.
As questioning began, and the issue of sexual assault was broached, Bryant's
first reaction was to express concern for his career and his image.
----
First concern"? That does not speak well of him.
He then told detectives he had done nothing, and later expressed concern
about his wife finding out, and said his wife and daughter were all that
mattered to him.
----
I am willing to say that that was a lie. His career was the firsting
on his mind.
Overall, it reveals what an adulterous husband does when caught, but
nowhere probative of rape. Hopefully, someone will "accidentally" put
the audio file and the transcript on the net so I can hear and read
for myself.

Then, Kobe was interviewed and said he didn't 'have sex with that woman'.

Actually, the special prosecutor's team spent three days with Clinton's
defense, working out what constitutes 'sex' for purposes of the trial. In
fact, the little slap and tickle that Clinton played with Monica didn't
qualify- no #@($. Oral sex didn't qualify, digital manipulation or cigar
dunking- Clinton was actually telling the lawyerly truth of the matter.
Same with the 'is' quote- he was asking for the tense so his answer would be
checkable.
And I'm not sure that fidelity was ever a condition of his marriage to
Hillary; nor Kobe's for that matter. Not a realistic expectation of either
athlete celebrities or politicians.
