Hi, all. There is a local HomeVestors franchise for sale in my area. The owner says you need at least $150,000 in liquid assets. I'm giving it a little consideration but am finding it difficult to get objective opinions on whether or not this is a good franchise to buy or not. I'm already set up with an LLC and line-of-credit & cash but am wondering if buying this franchise would enhance my chances for success. Does anyone have any experience with them? Any opinions would be appreciated. TIA. Bob P.S. I hope nobody minds the cross-post. I thought both newsgroups are appropriate.

Thank you, Falky. Very illuminating link. But wouldn't this be caused by the individual owning the local HomeVestors office rather than the entire franchise itself? For example, I went to a McDonald's for a quick lunch last month and saw an employee leave a bathroom stall without washing his hands. I'm never eating at that particular McDonald's again but I'd still eat at other ones. I don't fault the McDonald's franchise for this but perhaps the owner of this particular restaurant and definitely that particular employee. Assuming I were to be a responsible franchise owner for HomeVestors, would it benefit me to buy into this franchise? How is the support from the home office, etc.? Hi, I have owned several franchises and gave found one of the best ways to evaluate a franchise is to talk to existing franchise owners. HomeVestors will provide you with a list of current owners and also ask for the contact information of recently terminated franchisees. I think you'll find happy and unhappy franchisees would be glad to take some time and talk to you. Good luck, Dave - - - - - - - - - - USA Business Information - http://www.Network2020.com/go USA Legal Information - http://www.Network2020.com/resources

I think they are a good franchise in regards to marketing for BRAND AWARENESS But if you are set up with an LLC and a Line of Credit, you can better spend you monthly marketing budget and save yourself the franchise fee. I don't think there is much behind there offering besides a line of credit and a spreadsheet to help you estimate repair cost. .. just my humble opinion Duncan "YOUR HOME SOLUTION EXPERT" www.cashforyourhouse.us Sell Your House Fast !

Thanks, Duncan. I do already have the LOC and LLC set up. I was wondering if the HomeVestors system had some kind of "magic" associated with it to enhance real estate investing, kind of like how "McDonald's" brand name seems to drastically increase credibility of fast foods ssold by franchisees.
