Levy (judgement) and problems

"Nope"
10/1/2004 6:48:24 PM

Hello,
I had this Judgement against me involving the Attorneys involved and the
subsequent Marshall's Office about 2 years ago.
THERE WAS a Levy placed back then on an old bank account, which was lifted
completely afterwhich I then set up an agreement with the Marshall's Office
to pay off the debt each month for an agreed upon amount to be sent them
each month.
Something I've sent their way religiously over the past year and half (1 1/2
years). My understanding back then was that I WAS to deal with the
marshall's office from that point on (something I welcomed since I'd
considered the folks at the attorney's office to be quite incompetent).
Now, I found the other day that there was a Levy placed on my bank account
(this is a whole-ly different account from the original one of 2 years ago,
mind you).
After talking with the Attorney's office, they agreed to lift the LEVY which
they did.
I'm now looking to pay off the entire amount that's remaining BUT HERE'S THE
PROBLEM:
- As far as I can see, this Levy should never have taken place because of
the agreement I had with the Marshall's Office. OR AM I WRONG?
- The levy recently placed was of course for double the amount, BUT NOT for
what was remaining, but instead for the original amount.
- My Bank charged me $100 (as do all banks it seems in NYC) as a Levy Fee.
I'm getting nowhere with the Attorney's office. The individual I'd speak
with there sees an amount having been paid which is less than the REAL
Amount paid. (as helpful as he's tried to be for me, he's completely in the
dark as to why the Levy took place, except of course for the obvious
original judgement). AND His Manager refuses to return my calls and as for
the Marshall's office? Well, all they know is almost next to nothing, 'cept
for what I'd paid them thus far.
What are my options right now? As mentioned, I'd like to pay off the
remainder but not if the Attorney's Office can't get their heads straight as
to the real dollar amount of what's due. And is there any way for me to
recoup that $100 fee I've lost, through no fault of my own?
HELP ????
