Fox News site posts falsified Kerry quotes
'Metrosexual's' talk of 'manicures' is later retracted

A story containing false quotes attributed to Sen. John Kerry was
posted on Fox News Channel's Web site for hours Friday. The article
was pulled Friday afternoon and Fox News apologized.
The story, posted on foxnews.com, included phony quotes from Kerry
about his performance in Thursday's debate with President Bush.
An excerpt, found on several Web sites including
washingtondispatch.com, included the following inflammatory quotes:
"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!"
"It's about the Supreme Court. Women should like me! I do manicures."
"I'm metrosexual, he's a cowboy."
The bogus report, filed by Carl Cameron, was retracted Friday
afternoon.
Fox News' site identifies Cameron as the network's chief political
correspondent.
