According to the lawyer handling the probate of my father's will in Queens,
NY, I need to set up an estate account in Queens County, NY. I live in New
Jersey.
However, when I was executor of my brother's will, who also lived in NY
State, I opened an estate account in my local bank in NJ. If I recall, all I
needed were the letters testamentary. Can someone tell me if this is
possible? I'm not altogether sure the lawyer is completely familiar with the
details of the probate process.
