How to find corporate bylaws for a CA corporation???

I am trying to find the legal document called "corporate bylaws"
for a certain corporation based near San Francisco, CA. This is a
corporation traded on NASDAQ. Technically, this corporation is
incorporated in Delaware. However, the state of Delaware and
state of California do not keep the corporate bylaws. e.g. the state
of California only keeps Articles of Incorporation and some
amendments. The county where the corporation is based does not keep
any such documents either.
The question is who outside the corporation itself keeps its corporate
bylaws? I have not tried the SEC yet.

Among the probably many alternatives, besides obtaining a copy from
any number of financial investigative service firms (e.g., D&B,
Bishops Services, Kroll, etc.) is to do exactly what you say you
haven't yet tried (re. which, see the SEC's "Edgar" searchable
database for whether copies may have been attached to This or That
proxy or 10K or other SEC-filed document) if you have well-founded
reasons (though in your posting/query you don't actually cite any) to
believe that the corporation in question won't give you a copy if you
were simply to ask.*

suggests the desirability of not overlooking, at least
to the extent of tryng as a practical matter to verify
the applicability or not, of this actually quite basic
if too often overlooked Principle of Law:
Stragegizing how to climb in through a side window
or to tunnel under the floor isn't always necessary
if a knock on the front door probably would suffice.

I don't remember whether bylaws are included as an attachment in
filings of form 10k with the SEC. Good idea though, try them.
Also check with NASDAQ, they certainly have a copy. There are no
public sources outside of those two, because if the company is not
publicly traded, there is no obligation to send the bylaws to
anyone except stockholders. You can always call the company and
ask. They may tell you the bylaws are posted on a website, or
they may happily send you a copy.
