In an effort to inflame American anti-religious extremists into
reviving their flagging hate activities, Andreas Heldal-Lund offered
such "prizes" as a child's stuffed toy wearing a hate slogan to be
awarded to those who conduct the "best" hate march in front of
Scientology churches. Heldal-Lund's website is a source of hate
rhetoric that promotes death threats against Scientologists,
recommending specific means by which they should be assassinated, and
encourages violent actions against the Church itself.
Heldal-Lund's announcement encourages extremists to carry out
"imaginative stunts" against their targets and demands the use of
"pictures/video/sound" as proof that these acts of intimidation and
harassment have been carried out.
Heldal-Lund is a member of the Heathen Society of Norway, a religious
hate group dedicated to the destruction of all organized religion,
particularly Christianity.
Heathen Society
The following is taken directly from the Heathen Society of Norway's
website:
"Our goal is to contribute to the reduction of the overwhelming
strength the church and Christianity have in Norway, with its
exceptional position in Norwegian laws, school and culture. We also
want to make people aware of the harmful side of Christianity and of
all organized religions"
"Especially, we will work against the State Church and other religious
power structures."
With regard to Christianity, the website states:
"Many people think that Jesus was the kindest man who ever lived. And
in this belief they are members of the State Church. If you read the
Bible, you will see that Jesus actually was the Bible's only
Hell-prophet."
Heldal-Lund first appeared on the anti-religious hate scene in 1994
when he suddenly turned up at the Heathen Society's door, volunteered
to start the local chapter in Rogaland, and at once began attacks
against Christianity. This intense flurry of activity included writing
several articles for the Heathen Society's magazine, "Between Us
Heathens," that are clearly anti-religious in nature and target the
Christian Church. In March 1996, Heldal-Lund and then leader of the
Heathen Society, Halvor Raknes Johansen, conducted a campaign aimed at
denying Christians the right to the practice of baptizing newborns.

Heldal-Lund's activities quickly spread from attacking the Christian
Church to attacking the Church of Scientology. As part of this hate
agenda, he willfully violated copyright laws and may have conspired
with others to do so.
The following documentation was sent to Religious Freedom Watch from
Norway.
On November 6, 1996, just prior to posting copyrighted materials on
the Internet, Andreas Heldal-Lund sent this email to a Norwegian
psychologist (and fellow member of the Heathen Society) stating that
he had retained the services of attorney Knut Vigeland:
"Lawyer Knut Vigeland in Oslo will take the thing. The action will
start on one of the next coming days. I will start working on a press
release now, if you have a very extensive and updated list with flux
numbers I would like to have a copy of that, or if someone can help
sending it out. Corrections and other proposals to the page are
appreciated, the address is temporarily [web address removed].
Regards Andreas Heldal-Lund."
On November 7, 1996, the day after hiring this attorney, Heldal-Lund
began posting Church of Scientology copyrighted materials on the
Internet.
Following are some of the parties whom Heldal-Lund contacted by email
on 20 November 1996 informing them of the details of his copyright
infringement plan:

Ron Newman
Dave Touretzky
William Barwell
Ted Mayett
Per Lundquist
All of the above are known anti-religious extremists who have made
documented attacks against the Church of Scientology. Zenon Panoussis
is a known copyright anarchist who was sued and fined in Sweden for
copyright violations.
Ironically, Heldal-Lund is employed by Iron Mountain, a prestigious
company that provides records and information management services in
the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Czech
Republic, Slovakia, Austria and the Netherlands. Iron Mountain is very
sensitive about data security with regard to both their clients and
employees.
