EDITORIAL (Subject: Purpose of Journal of Church and State) "The relation between Church and State is the greatest subject in the history of the West," said Emil Brunner. Questions regarding this subject are many, and remain largely unresolved. Many organizations, including Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, have formed to address major issues related to church-state relations. With the insistence on majority rule in the modern nation-state, concern for the rights of the minority, especially with regard to religious liberty, should be paramount. The Journal of Church and State is committed to exploring the broad spectrum of church and state issues.
