OTE: The previous post a few minutes ago did not post in its entirety. Hopefully this does. I'm a disgruntled ex-sex offender from California who is very angry about Megan's Law and all of its consequences we're expected to just accept. First of all, let me apologize for posting this on this particular newsgroup. I realize this is off topic but what I have to say is important and posting it on hundreds of newsgroups gets the word out to the greatest number of people. With the help of internet databases listing us online in April 2004 I began sending out, and am continuing to send out, letters to ex-sex offenders all over the United States advising them of an anti Megan's Law Web site I set up. There, my fellow comrades can find various ways -- some being quite extreme (and even violent) -- that we can fight back in order to regain what little fairness we had before Megan's Law was enacted. One way is to list children in our own internet database to complement the databases set up with us on them. In order to prevent the general public and law enforcement from pulling the plug on this site I am making its address available only to fellow ex-sex offenders. In September 2004 I set up a duplicate Web site at another address and sent pro Megan's Law individuals and organizations there to see what I am doing. Despite just having sample children listed complaints brought the site down within days. And in early October another sample site was also advertised and promptly taken down. Luckily, they have yet to find the real site with the real children listed and it is alive and well. : - ) What I'm doing here is providing the text from all my pages (except the child database) so you can see how we are fighting back. Because this is a plain-text document it contains no italic, bold, or underlined words for emphasis as I have on my Web site. In their place I have CAPITALIZED those words. Obviously you people will probably #@&@ and want this posting taken down too so what I would suggest you do is immediately select all of the text on this page (Command-A on a Mac, Control-A on a PC), copy all of the text on this page (Command-C on a Mac, Control-C on a PC), and then go to your word processor and paste your copied text into it (Command-V on a Mac, Control-V on a PC). Failing that, you will surely find this posting on another newsgroup. Just search for "anti megans law" as the Subject. If you are using a newsgroup reader application program type it in without the quotes and no apostrophe in megans. You can also access newsgroups from a Web browser by going to: http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search. Typing in "anti megans law" in the Subject field will list every newsgroup where I have posted it -- and as ones get pulled down I'll repost. I WANT society to know we won't stand for this crap. In this case, use the quotes but still no apostrophe in megans. Each page on my Web site contains links to the other pages on the site along with a navigation bar at the bottom of each page. Obviously those things are not available here. Instead, you can jump to individual areas by typing certain words into your news reader's Find command. The first page visitors are taken to is my index page and here it is: ***index*** Welcome Everybody, In April 2004 I set up this Web site and in September 2004 began advertising it by various methods to the general public. Obviously you're here because you got one of the numerous E-mails I sent out, read about it on one of the many newsgroups I posted on, or saw one of my many fliers. Or you may have even stumbled across it during a search engine search. In any event, I'm a disgruntled ex-sex offender from California with a non-violent felony conviction on my record dating back to the late 1960s. My disgruntled nature emerged with the enactment of Megan's Law in 1996 and has grown more severe over the years as public sentiment against us being free in society has increased. Prison life is bad enough for ex-sex offenders. (Note; I always use the term ex-sex offenders. Unless we're currently engaged in illegal sexual activity we are to be considered ex-sex offenders -- not sex offenders.) Fellow inmates hate us worse than murderers, even though our victims are still alive to enjoy life, and on account of that attitude we suffer harassment after harassment from them. And in some cases even prison staff joins in the harassment. The "lucky" ones only suffered verbal abuse. Those of us less fortunate had to also endure physical abuse. When I got out of prison I put most of my elevated anger behind me and obediently registered with police in my local community as was required to do under California's Penal Code Section 290. Back then that was the end of it. If I never moved from that address nothing more was required -- no neighbors being notified, no yearly updating, no nothing. If I did move, all I'd have to do was notify them in writing. Then Megan's Law came into effect nationwide and changed it all. Here in California it requires police to notify neighbors when those classified as "high risk" ex-sex offenders are released. That's bad enough, but then police in some communities began taking it on their own, which the law permits, to notify neighbors when NON "high risk" ex-sex offenders are released. Now those of us who committed no violence or force at all in our crimes became subject to not only the embarrassment of neighbors knowing, but potential harassment and/or even abuse. Sure, there's laws to punish those who abuse us, but what good are they if law enforcement puts capturing and punishing such law breakers at a low priority? And there's numerous other side effects to Megan's Law we have to suffer which I address on other pages contained on this site. With the launch of this site in April 2004 I began sending a brief letter to numerous ex-sex offenders whose names and addresses I got off of the internet. At this time California doesn't list us online, although that will soon change, and we are prohibited from accessing the database at police stations throughout the state, like everyone else in the general public can do, so my letters are limited to ex-sex offenders in other states. (Some local California communities are putting their own ex-sex offenders online though and I can get to them.) But that's okay as our comrades in other states suffer the effects of Megan's Law in much the same ways we in California do. To see the letter I'm sending out click here. (Obviously that won't work. Instead, type ***letter*** in your Find command and you'll be taken right to the letter.) To get back to this page just use your browser's back button. (Again, that won't work. To get back to where you left off type a few words of the next sentence in your Find command.) Please accept my apology for the pop up ads when new pages open. I get the Web space for free and a side effect of that is you get to see ads. Oh well! There's no such thing as a free lunch, right? Just close the ads as soon as they open and you won't be bothered. The ad at the top of each page is theirs too. I'm not advertising anything other than my ideas, and they're provided for free as my gift to you. (Each page on this site also has a navigation bar at the bottom allowing you to move throughout the site quite easily.) On this site you'll hear my idea about se
