Is this agency a joke?
I found this agency incompetent. Also, my lawyer told me EEOC rarely
send case to court. If so then EEOC is not doing their job! They're
wasting taxpayers' dollars!
Last August, a company refused to provide interpreter for the
interview, saying I must bring my own interpreter. I pointed them to
ADA legal info and they then agreed to work on getting interpreter
which they have never done so. So I filed complaint at EEOC against
this company last October. I gave them complete records of my
conversation with this company.
EEOC investigated this charge and found no discrimination, thereby
giving me right to sue. Are they blind? All they do is do intake, then
pass it back to you.
I've filed 8 charges at EEOC and this is the first I heard from them.
I fear EEOC'll shoot down the rest of my charges. I cannot afford to
go to court suing eight companies with those very high legal costs and
lawyer's fees so I may have to pick the best one of the 8 charges and
stick with it.
Is there a way we can reprimand EEOC for doing a poor job?

Sorry, but no company is required to provide an interpreter at their
expense.
Assuming you are speaking of being "hearing impaired", is there no one else
at the company who also signs?
Do you not have some kind of organization around that would provide such a
service for free or at a low cost?
Were you terminated from these eight companies because of the hearing
impairment solely? Or are there other issues?
I have a hunch there is more than just this one issue alone.
I do not give legal advice, only opinions.

Probably the only thing you could do would be write to your congressperson.
I also found EEOC incompetent. And, you're right. They rarely take cases to
court. They're mostly interested in mass cases where they can take several
employees against the same company. But what burns me the most is when
people take cases to Supreme Court that really don't fall under ADA, IMHO,
and then wind up sticking truly disabled people with weird rulings. <sigh> I
suppose it's just all part of the process.

Well, Congressmen also are mostly interested in mass complaints since
that's where they get their votes. I doubt many would write to their
Congressmen regarding the incompetency of the EEOC....

A friend who works for EEO at a Fed agency (not EEOC) told me EEOC
employs people with a Bachelor's degree who had no experience as a
lawyer so they're really incompetent.

I guess EEOC has a better chance of winning this case because of the
Warn Act law that forbids mass lay-off. Combining Warn Act with ADA
gives you very good chance to win.

That's pathetic.

notice....
