Administration Rejects Ruling On PR Videos GAO Called Tapes Illegal Propaganda By Christopher Lee Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, March 15, 2005 The Bush administration, rejecting an opinion from the Government Accountability Office, said last week that it is legal for federal agencies to feed TV stations prepackaged news stories that do not disclose the government's role in producing them. That message, in memos sent Friday to federal agency heads and general counsels, contradicts a Feb. 17 memo from Comptroller General David M. Walker. Walker wrote that such stories -- designed to resemble independently reported broadcast news stories so that TV stations can run them without editing -- violate provisions in annual appropriations laws that ban covert propaganda. -- SNIP --

Well put. I had a boss once to whom I presented indisputable evidence of egregious misconduct on the part of another employee and expressed my frustration at his unwillingness to take action. My boss told me that conditions were just as bad at any other workplace. Pride and self-respect are going down the tubes in this country. Ethan

Perhaps the conspiracy here is that the Repubs are secretly (and of course, unknowingly to Moore) backing his 'films'. Cynical? Maybe. Hey, when you leave, take some of the Baldwin's with you. They don't keep their collective promises to leave and might need a bit of help with the packing. And please don't bring them to Canader, we have enough failed socia-lites, failed and crappy actors and American haters here. How about France? They have nice cheeze there.

What has Micheal Moore got to do with the illegal Bush gov't practice of paying people to produce government propaganda?

Fare height 911. Seen it? If you have you lose time and money you can't get back. All governments produce information about programmes and policies. If you are against that ticular gov, then it is prop. If you are for it, it is good and useful. Your choice or you can simply doubt all sources and act accordingly.

In other words, you're a RAT, because you RATTED OUT your coworker.
My boss told me that conditions were just as bad at any other workplace.
Your boss is apparently street-smart. Moreover, employers like to have employees who work well together, who watch each others' backs, who are "team players". You're apparently not a team player.

You don't get it do you. By engaging in these activities, the Bush government is breaking the law. It's propaganda when it's misleading. Again, what has Moore's movie to do with gov't propaganda? One is an issue of artistic integrity (yes I have actually seen the film. Have you?) and the other is of the government lying to it's people so that it can engage in whatever policy it wants. If the people are kept ignorant, the government can do whatever it wants. This is very dangerous. It is undemocratic and illegal.

Which is why any legislation that protects employees who go to the authorities about their company's illegal practices should be outlawed and the corporation should have every right to persecute them. This is America and that is the American way! The Law Of The Jungle.

I get it. I don't care. I am Canadian. I can't vote so I am a bystander.

As I said earlier, above.

Moore is a clown agit-prop fake socia-lite. He makes polemic piles and calls them docs. That could be called propaganda or information. You, being anti-bush see it as information and what comes out the white house as propaganda.
This is very dangerous. It is undemocratic and illegal.
That is more or less true. What is the point?

The way the right see it is that if Michael Moore can make movies, Bush can create fictional and misleading propaganda to influence public policy using lies. It's all very simple, for the simple minded.

No, because it's human nature. Because if he rats out the next guy, he's just as likely to rat YOU out as well. Which is why YOU'RE not going to trust him. And a "corporation" (or any employer, really) is not going to want to have an employee whom the other employees can't work with.
