Hi,
I married my x-girlfriend 3 years ago then we divoced right
afterwards. It was a long-distance relationship. The marriage license
was issued in California, where I am, and the divorce was granted in
Alabama, which she used to live.
I am planning to marry my current girlfriend but I don't want her
to know about my previous marriage for fear of hurting her feelings
unnecessarily because it was just a foolish mistake. However, to get a
marriage license I am required to report my previous marriage. So here
are my questions:
1. What would happen if I claim in the application that I have always
been single?
2. Would it help if we go to Las Vegas or Hawaii to get married?
