It's my understanding that a Writ of Attachment for a child who is physically with the non-custodial parent in violation of a court order must be served by an officer of the law. How much time to they (the police) have to carry out the service of the Writ? Does this Writ allow them to enter and search for the child or is it just a case where they knock and ask for the child to be handed over, leaving the option for the NCP to lie and claim the child isn't there? What's realistic as to how soon this will take place after the judge authorizes it? Will the NCP be arrested at the same time the child is recovered? Yes, there is a lawyer, but it's pro bono and it all happened quickly and many of the questions that needed to be asked weren't asked at the time. Now it's the weekend and the waiting has begun... just thought someone here might have some experience with this so as to provide a general idea of how things go in this case. Thanks.
