I don't disagree with much of what you say but the question that I thought
I was answering was which of two surveys was correct. The OP had a recent
survey done which disagreed (it would seem) with an older survey or the
markers left over

This hunting trip was booked 2 years in advance, upon recommendation.
$2400 is not the total for the trip, these payments were made in 2004
and early 2005, then October 2005 they did not pick up a hunting party.
Luckily we did not pay the full $4800.
