Investigators believe that the woman fell on the child, who was pronounced dead Tuesday, said Bobby Contreras, Hidalgo County justice of the peace. "It didn't look like there was any foul play from what I saw," he said. An autopsy was scheduled, with the cause of death to be announced Monday. Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevio, who called the death "suspicious," said he would wait for an announcement on the cause before deciding whether to file charges. The child was believed to have been dropped off by his mother to spend the day with the bedridden relative, The McAllen Monitor reported Friday.

Don't the police have anything better to do than victimize fat people? The relative will probably be charged with capital murder. Fat is the new black. --

I would hope the police would "victimize" any person involved in the death of a 2-year-old. The media will, unfortunately, sensationalize whatever they can sink their teeth into. I suspect you've been around long enough to read and hear reports of Boy Scout troop leaders, priests, school teachers, et al. Hanging a juicy story on a "morbidly obese person" should not come as a surprise. And being fat may have increased the odds of this accidental death, right? On the other hand, the child's 90-pound cousin could have just as easily accidentally killed the toddler. :( All that to say this: I'd blame the media for sensationalizing before I'd blame the police for doing their job. --

No. We need them victimized as much a possible so they go into hiding or lose weight.

Good!
Fat is the new black.
No. Fat is the same old UGLY.

I was right! This poor BBW has been arrested on trumped up charges. Fat people have no chance in the justice system. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/5651337.html --

Where's the evidence that the charges are trumped up? Or is this just based on your personal perception of what might be happening? - Logan

Three things. One - How does a "bedridden" woman "fall" on a child? Either she can stand up or she can't. Two - Clearly, no one in their right mind leaves a 2=BD year old with a bedridden caretaker. Someone else must have been at home, or the woman is not bedridden. Three - In a follow-up story the mother of the child had taken her "two younger children" with her, leaving just the oldest one there. How can you have THREE kids under 2=BD? She must have gotten pregnant the day after she delivered each kid, since the normal gestation period in human beings is 37-38 weeks. The entire story sounds completely bogus.

There isn't room for fatties in the justice system. All fatty felons should be put to work in chain gangs picking up trash, mowing highway medians or cleaning slaughterhouses. If fatties worked their fair share, we wouldn't need mexicans.

And if trolls blow their hot hair into wind power generators, the US could abandon fossil fuels.
